We have big plans! The rapid growth of recent years has meant that our old office buildings in Dortmund no longer offered enough space. For our new home, only a location that simultaneously reflects our history and our vision came into question from the very beginning. This is exactly what we found on the Innovation Campus around the former Opel administration building.

We are Europe’s largest online shop for baby and children’s products. As a digital company we are on an ever-expanding journey, both nationally and internationally. In addition to Germany, we are represented in a total of 13 countries across Europe and in China. We also operate six stores in Germany. With over 500 employees, we regularly achieve an average growth of 30% per year. babymarkt.de has been named the best online shop in the category “baby and toddler equipment” for the sixth time in a row and is one of the “Leading Shops 2021” according to the technology portal CHIP.

Our international expansion forms the DNA of babymarkt.de. Starting with the launch of the German online shop in 2004, we are now represented in thirteen other European countries and in China.

Four stores

In Germany, we are also known as a stationary specialist store for baby and children’s products. We offer our customers a direct point of contact and a more personal buying experience at a total of four locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, on 7,000 m² of retail space.

Wide range of services

Our qualified customer service is a top priority at babymarkt.de and is enhanced with exciting newsletters, extensive online guides, diverse social media activities and support from our midwives.

Our departments

Product Management

In our product management department, everything revolves around our products. We negotiate favourable purchase prices and ensure that the right products are available in the right quantity and at the right time for our customers.

Online Sales

We are responsible for all national and international online sales. We manage our German shop as well as the 13 other European shops out of our head office located in Bochum.

Retail Media

Our Retail Media division markets all advertising materials and spaces in and around the babymarkt shops. The daily business consists of the acquisition of partners, the creation of new advertising formats with cooperation partners and the implementation of advertising campaigns.

IT

As a tech team, we develop the shop platform behind babymarkt.de, programme our merchandise management system and support our babymarkt team in their daily work with innovative tools.

Project management

Our project management regularly develops new growth areas, analyses potential for improvement and optimises customer offers and processes.

Logistics

We like to move it – We send over 2.0 million parcels across Europe every year.

Business Intelligence

We manage and analyse babymarkt.de’s treasure of data. Our insights and findings serve as the basis for important decisions within the company.

Customer service

Our customer service has an answer to every question and finds individual solutions for our customers. They are available six days a week for a total of 68 hours via telephone, live chat & e-mail.

Finance

In the finance area, everything revolves around numbers. We take care of bookkeeping, deal with all processes related to customer payments and create evaluations on a wide range of topics.

HR

In our HR department, everything revolves around our employees. In addition to looking after our existing colleagues, we actively ensure that we continue to grow and welcome new recruits. In addition to that, we try to make working at babymarkt.de a little more pleasant every day within the framework of projects and make sure to further educate and upskill our employees through targeted personnel development measures.

Stationary sales

In our stationary branches, we stand by and assist expectant parents during the most beautiful and exciting time of their lives. As a specialist store with heart, we accord great importance to professional advice and comprehensive services.

China

With around 14 million newborns per year, China is a particularly attractive market for our sector. The main task in our team is to expand the sales volume in the Chinese Mother & Baby online market. Our goal is to become THE German online retailer for young families in China. We focus on products from Germany that are particularly popular amongst our Chinese consumers.
